I worked some more on my cosplay for the renfaire later this month. I managed to underpaint the armor for the gauntlets before work today, but I still don’t like the purplish silver paint I got for the breastplate. It looks nice when mixed with the grey paint, like actual brushed metal, but it has a purplish hue that I’m not really vibing with. I’m still thinking of changing the front plate entirely, which is a ton of work, but that’s not the biggest concern right now.

I’m crafting my gauntlets using cardboard. I’m following along using a youtube vid as a guide, but this guy used longer gloves than I as a base. I didn’t think that’d be a problem, except now I don’t have anywhere to glue the armguard onto! I improvised using scrap leather for a strap, but it doesn’t look great. Mobility is also a concern, as I’ve hotglued everything onto this leather glove, but I either have to uncouple the armguard from the glove, or hotglue it and have it be absolutely immobile.

I am SO close to abandoning this project but I have to push forward...
